I’ve said it before, but video shouldn’t just play, it should do serious business.
With that said, I was excited to see the Wistia’s awesome new feature release – Turnstile.
“What is that?” you may ask.
Basically, if you use online video content to generate leads, it’s what you’ve been waiting for.
Turnstile allows you to automatically generate an email capture form in any video you host with Wistia. Once captured, you can automatically link these addresses to services such as MailChimp and Hubspot, sending follow up emails or basically doing whatever you choose.
I admit email capture in video is not a totally new concept, but it’s never been so easy before.
It’s especially great that you can choose when to use the turnstile feature. Using it at the beginning, middle, end or any time in between means you can decide if giving up an email is a mandatory requirement for viewing the content or just an encouraged option.
Wistia themselves did a bit of testing and came up with some interesting results of how placement of the turnstile drastically effected the numbers of views and conversions – check out the video at the bottom of this page (click link to view) to see some interesting numbers and conversion rates based on the positioning of the email collector within a video
Not only that, Wistia let you customize everything about the feature (which, did I mention, is also available in their FREE plan? Nice)!
